“Have you got any soul?” a woman asks the next afternoon. That depends, I feel like saying; some days yes, some days no. A few days ago I was right out; now I’ve got loads, too much, more than I can handle. I wish I could spread it a bit more evenly, I want to tell her, get a better balance, but I can’t seem to get it sorted. I can see she wouldn’t be interested in my internal stock control problems though, so I simply point to where I keep the soul I have, right by the exit, just next to the blues.

I am a music lover. I am also rather fond of books and movies, but today’s post is just about the music part. I have a separate hard drive dedicated solely to MP3s, own 863 different compact discs (this does not count any CD I’ve burned), 15 compilation cassettes that have yet to be turned into a CD version, and 21 vinyl albums. These latter two formats I can not play because I own no record player or cassette deck, but I can’t simply throw them out or sell them. I might be a little obsessive-compulsive about my music. The fact that all of those CDs are alphabetized in my storage shelves does nothing to diminish this idea.
Because I am such a lover of music, I thought I would share two sites that have yet to be blocked by the evil Network Nazis here at work.
These two sites have introduced me to several bands that I’d never heard of, yet absolutely love. They also include a lot of the bands I already listen to which many people I know have never heard of. (Massive Attack, Portishead, and Everything But the Girl, to name a few)
That’s it. I made a post just to share these two sites with you and maybe increase Music Awareness.

Oh, and I’m finally feeling better. After two weeks of coughing to the point of pulling a muscle in my lower back, I decided to live. 🙂
